故事本身並沒有太過於新穎的地方，不過畢竟也是1989年的電影了。而周潤發和鍾楚紅在幾部電影中合作組成的CP在眾多CP檔中絕對名列前茅。

很棒的小說改編電視劇範本。

a very explorative place that certainly requires much patience. i almost gave up half way through ep2 but the more episodes into it, the more drawn i became. the flipping twist at the end is great! Amy Adam is a joy to watch.

觀感上挺厚實的，把曆史、宗教、人文揉到懸疑題材裏，整體嚴肅而考究。但牧師題材的片子對我來說一直都隔著點距離，半數情況我難以入戲，當然它跟《冬日之光》、《鄉村牧師日記》之類相比肯定還是友好很多
